Description:

The Song Sparrow is a common and familiar sparrow found in gardens, wetlands, and backyard habitats across North America. These birds often forage on the ground beneath feeders and are known for their rich, musical songs.

Nesting:

Song Sparrows build cup shaped nests made of grasses, leaves, and plant fibers. Nests are usually placed low in shrubs, dense vegetation, or sometimes directly on the ground.

Identification:

A medium sized sparrow with heavy brown streaking across the chest and a dark central spot on the breast. The face shows gray and brown tones with a subtle eyebrow stripe. Males and females look very similar.

Song Description:

A rich series of clear musical notes often starting with a few repeated phrases followed by a lively trill.

How to Attract:
